Known by different names, organic churches are modeled after the first century church mentioned in the book of
Acts. There are no church buildings, no sound systems, no paid clerics, just
groups of 12-15 people who meet, worship, fellowship, and eat together in homes. In Mexico as in many developing nations there is often a shortage of
funds for traditional church growth. In the past this lack has usually been
picked up by loving churches from the U.S. Unfortunately this often creates an
unhealthy dependence and a traditional model that can only be sustained and multiplied with more cash from
America. Organic church is based
primarily on casual fellowship in a family like setting which often
includes a meal. Here people can discover truth together through
relational Bible study, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Dialog is
emphasized, as is life application of what is revealed. In time trust
develops and for those that persevere, intimacy, accountability and loving
community. While there is an obvious house church movement that is
thriving in many parts of the world today, we consider ourselves pioneers in
discovering how to present this concept in the context of Latin Culture. |
Tepic, Nayarit Mexico;
Our
Spanish website La Iglesia En
Casas is an essential tool for connecting with others throughout the
Spanish-speaking world who already have received an organic church vision.
It seems that God is working with many people all over the Globe, but
often they are unknown to one another. So far we have made contact with
over 500 of these. Through our newsletter, La Nueva Reforma (The New
Reformation) we provide encouragement and practical ideas for those who
are starting an organic church, and for those who are looking for a
church we are able to make referrals from our growing directory.
This
has been a difficult year for our town as the Drug war violence from the
North has spread and erupted in our midst. To say the least, the near
daily gun battles have been a huge distraction from our usual routine,
but on the other hand a great opportunity for us to learn and grow
in trust. Daily we intercede and ask God to send his Holy Spirit to tear
down ancient strongholds of corruption, violence that hold this town in
bondage.
"Therefore
go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching to obey
everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the
very end of the age." (Matthew 28:19)
We welcome your friendship,
We covet your prayers.
God Bless You,
