Walk With Us
About Us
We know who you are and why you are here. You know
something is missing, the pieces don't all fit, and your spiritual life is still not
all that the
Bible has promised. Welcome then, welcome to the real world, welcome to extreme discipleship, the heavy lifting of
the faithful. Join with us then, if you will. Perhaps we can help each other to
find the way.
Being
a disciple of Christ involves a lot more than just becoming a Christian.
Discipleship is not an event, it's a process, and it's the occupation of the
courageous, the way of the cross for those that are willing to be broken in
order to be remade. As we walk in the way of Jesus,
slowly but surely we are changed, and we actually begin to look like the one we
follow. In the
beginning the way is smooth, level, and well marked by the passage of many before us.
However as we progress along roads less traveled the way becomes
increasingly more challenging.
It
has been said that discipleship is the work of applying discipline to
our flesh nature in study, prayer, and devotion in order to become
poised where God can do for us, that which we are unable to do for
ourselves. Perhaps even more important, being a disciple also means developing an intimate
relationship with the living God, and learning how to hear His voice. In
this, we are able to find our way and understand the part we play in His
divine purpose; to bring hope and life to a lost and dying world.
Many enlightened men and women, past and present have been sent as guides to mentor
generations of believers. Some of these are famous authors while many
are people like you, or the person you are becoming. It seems unlikely
that any one person has a complete revelation of truth, more likely, we
all have a piece, something important to contribute. We invite you then to join with us in
our pilgrimage if you will, and WALK THIS WAY.
My
family and I live in Mexico and are currently involved in planting house
churches (see Church Planting).
Perhaps the greatest benefit of being a missionary is the continued
learning experience that is required. I can't say why, but whenever I
seem to have a revelation of truth, the next thing that comes to mind is
the desire to share it with others. Walk This Way, the web-zine is an
expression of that desire that could only have come from God. There is
also a richness of fellowship, that for me is found with none other than
that band of brothers and sisters who are also seeking the truth of Christ
Jesus.
"So
I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks
receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be
opened."
Luke 11:9
